CORPORATE SOCIAL RESPONSIBILITY (CSR) for us is not just a responsibility or an add-on; it is our commitment to the society around us. We believe that a healthy and flourishing business thrives in a healthy and sustainable environment.

Health Check-up Camp: As a part of our CSR activity for the month of February 2018, Kishinchand P. Belani Trust organised a free health check-up camp for site workers of Belani Zest at Rajarhat. The camp was set up at our marketing site office and a team of 7 members from Fortis Hospital Limited and Optical Palace arrived.  Necessary medical advice and precautionary measures were also conveyed to each worker by doctor.

Joka Katha Kalam: is an inclusive theatre group with children and adults with disabilities who work together with their non-disabled peers in creative arts. We encourage such talents and provide support to them monetarily.

Indian Institute of Cerebral Palsy (IICP): The organisation seeks to bring about a positive change in the lives of all people with cerebral palsy. They do this through a wide range of policies and services designed to enhance their individual skills and knowledge. They provide them with opportunities to exercise their constitutional rights and fully participate and contribute to the community and country. We provided support to the organisation.

Distribution of Warm Clothes: An event was organised where our CSR Team got in touch with Weavers Studio Resource Centre towards the distribution of woollen clothes during winter for the underprivileged students, impoverished kids and cancer patients.

The children were aged between 7-12 years and were quite elated with their pre-Christmas gift.

Save the Children: As the name suggests, the organisation works extensively towards providing better facilities in health care and education for underprivileged children. Our organisation provides support to these children.

Singh and Mazumder Charitable Trust: The trust provides basic medical & healthcare assistance to the people of the neighbouring villages through its polyclinic. Our Trust donated towards the cost of medicines for the patients of the AdisaptagramSebayan Polyclinic.

World Down syndrome Day: We atKishinchand P. Belani Trust joined hands with Mentaid (The Association for the Development of the Mentally Handicapped) and organised an awareness campaign, for children with Down syndrome on World Down Syndrome Day on 21st March. The children were given a tour of Kolkata in a tram followed by distribution of refreshments. It was a fun time for the children.

Pamphlets were also distributed to spread awareness in the community.

DaanUtsav– A Wish Tree for an NGO named Mentaid– An Association for the Development of the Mentally Handicapped was put up at the head office for a week.  It was literally a wish-fulfilling tree and people desirous of fulfilling any of the wishes would pick up a card with a number marked on it and fulfil those wish/needs of a special child. All the wishes were collected from MENTAID and were fulfilled by the employees of our company.

Rotary Club of Calcutta Mahanagar-Project Udaan- Donation for sponsorship of school fees for a year. Sponsorship of school fees for a year paid to the school via the organization for 7 girl child studying in Std.-VIII-XI

Antara – The Company collaborated with Antara towards a noble CSR initiative by sponsoring of ‘A Day’s Meals’ once a month for 6 months for the mentally ill- patients of Antara.

World Health Day: On 7th April, being World Health Day, We at the Belani Group for once coming out of the realm of steel and cement; wanted to make our presence felt in the Social World too. They say, “Little drops of thoughtfulness, time and responsibility, makes an ocean full of love and care.” Taking these thoughts ahead, the marketing and CSR team got involved with an organisation called CINI (Child In Need Institute), who run a number of Shelter Homes and Free Schools for children in Kolkata.

“TRIBAL CENTER”: Belani Group cares about the ethnic community of West Bengal. In a noble effort to preserve the rapidly disappearing tribal cultures of Bengal, Belani Group generously donated to the Crafts Council West Bengal in setting up a Tribal Center to research & document the last of the living tribal cultures that are on the verge of extinction. We create the future, but we revere & strive to protect and preserve our glorious past and ethnicity as well.

“SPLASH” sit n draw competition: We joined hands with Concern India Foundation to organize “SPLASH”, a sit & draw competition for differently able children at La Martiniere for Girls. Belani Group is glad to bring smiles to the faces of these little angels!

RabindraSarobarNagarik Committee: Belani Group joined hands with RabindraSarobarNagarik Committee in April 2014towards a noble CSR initiative in sponsoring the expenses that go towards providing tiffin to under privileged children.

Weavers Studio Resource Centre : Belani Group has been associated with the Weavers Studio Resource Centre for long and the company’s latest CSR initiative with Weavers Studio was being one of their main sponsors for the free health check-up camp organized at Bhangore-1 area in February 2014.

AISEC Balakalakar: Belani Group continued its association with AISEC, the world’s largest student-driven organization. With the belief that there is an artist in every child, AIESEC organizes Balakalakar with thousands of children from the slums of Kolkata and provides them with the platform to express them creatively through a painting competition.

Donation of Sweater and Socks: In association with Weavers Studio Resource CentreBelani Group sponsored sweaters and socks for 45 senior women residents of Navanir Old Age Home and around 100 mentally challenged women and men who are residents of Anjali – Home for Mentally Challenged. Watching their faces glow made the effort worthwhile for us.

Raincoat Distribution to School Children in association with Weavers Studio Resource Centre: Belani Group sponsored the distribution of raincoats to over 1000 primary school children at the Bhangore 1 Village Cluster. The distribution was carried in tandem with other activities at the village cluster like free eye check-up camps and talks on health, hygiene, disease control, nutrition, plastic awareness, etc.

Bhangore 1 Village Development Project with Weavers Studio Resource Centre: The Centre has adopted a cluster of 9 villages, known as the Bhangore 1 Village Cluster, in South 24 Parganas with a population of approx. 4200 people for overall development – to include health and sanitation initiatives, building of roads and other important infrastructure, educational and vocational programmes, agricultural and employment projects, and so on and so forth. To help them in their initiative,wegifted a deep tube-well to facilitate clean drinking water to everyone in the villages. The tube-well was professionally tested for drinkability and formally inaugurated for public use.
