In any form of business a common feature often witnessed is the coming together of two or more like minded players to offer more value to their products. Belani Group too believed in sharing its expertise and knowledge with the United Credit Group to expand its interests. Jointly they formed the United Credit Belani Group popularly known as the Hiland Group. In 1999, the Calcutta Metropolitan Development Authority (now KMDA) joined hands with Hiland Group to form the Calcutta Metropolitan Group Limited (CMGL) and announced its flagship project Hiland Park, off EM Bypass, the city’s first ever integrated lifestyle development. Among other activities, Hiland has also undertaken a notable project that aims to refurbish Rabindra Sarovar, a national heritage lake in Kolkata. In 2003 the Hiland Group joined hands with the West Bengal Housing Board to form the Bengal United Credit Belani Housing Limited (BUCBHL).The key project of this joint venture was Hiland Woods, a residential development comprising486 dwelling units, catering to a mix of demographic profiles across LIG, MIG and HIG. The project was completed in 2009. Hiland Willows is another landmark property developed by this entity.Among other notable ventures, the Hiland Group completed Hiland Sapphire on Ballygunge Park Road in 2009, now a notable address in this posh neighbourhood. However, the Hiland Group’s most ambitious project till date is Calcutta Riverside, a 262 acre riverside township project in Batanagar, coming up in association with Bata India Limited.
